I'm curious to know how you'd compare this online journal to the journals I know you've been in the habit of keeping -- like the one you had stolen (or was it lost?)years ago (in San Francisco?). What do you think of what the medium offers? of the different way it shapes your record-keeping? I'm guessing that some of the watercolours might come from your sketch-book-cum-journal, and that book will, of course, offer the aesthetic satisfaction of the paper's texture, the smell, etc., BUT doesn't integrate photographs as nicely nor accommodate conversations with friends. It will be interesting to see how both stimulate future work in their different ways. Any thoughts?

I think the blog as medium for journal is fantastic. It's not as ephemeral as I thought, as I have the text and photos on my computer and the drawings and paintings in my sketchbooks. It offers a quick easy way to integrate the three things (as well as video and audio I guess, if I had a more sophisticated grasp of it). But the best part is the interaction. It is really the perfect thing for this year (though there will be periods when I will not have internet access). I'm really enjoying the writing part and it stimulates me to get out to sketch everyday.
